Oh am I ever celebrating today. I think I'm gonna do a little twirly dance & sing as loudly as I can. Because you know what? I did it. I got my birth announcements finally posted online! Truth!

I have been working so hard at getting my birth announcement designs ready to post online. It seemed like it would take forever. And I have done it today! You can see them here and here!

I love the graphic arts designing that this takes & I can create for hours & completely lose track of time. So this project has been a joy. The hardest part is finishing, saying its done. Its good. In the end I told myself that maybe I don't have to say its finished. Just maybe this is part of life, the continuing to work with the design, perfecting, playing, trying new ideas... Besides its great for my customers, they are not limited to just a few designs. There are more options this way.

As you browse you will notice that lots of the designs have several options to choose from... I did that for you. You are most welcome.

So now to kick off this celebration I decided to show you some birth announcements up just a little closer.

This first one has a modern chalkboard style background & a Summer Starfruit colored font. It just looks so fun & playful. And what is awesome about this is that if fits right in there with the chalkboard style that is so popular right now!

This next one has a little more refined taste with a clean gray background. But a little playfulness comes in with that white swirl detail on the top & bottom...

And this last one is so clean & fresh. It just looks so very stylish.  I often have a hard time deciding which one is my favorite. This last one just might be, but that might just be prejudice because I designed it today. Its my newest creation. So then its a little like a baby. The baby, you know, is always the favorite.

Just for you: the colors in all of these designs can be made to suit your tastes. Isn't that just fabulous!!!

Wishing you all a great day!

Here it is time for our CHALLENGE SPARK! blog posts again! I chose the gift packaging because I have the new gift box punch board & am I ever loving it. And then I've been discovering how to make boxes with the envelope punch board as well! This was going to be AWESOME!

And then.. life got in the way. Or shall I say I succumbed to life? Or what is it?

So the sad news is: I'm taking a break. A break from blogging & the Challenge Spark! It's just a break & I hope to be back in September. If I can be back sooner, that will be a bonus for all of us!

The fun isn't over. You can still follow Grace at Create It Because You Can & Tara at: Country Girl {Creates}

I will still be selling Stampin' Up! You can order online here! Fill your shopping cart with all the goodies you like & I'd love it if you would choose me as your demonstrator.

Or give me a call at 204-873-2151 and I will gladly enter your order that way as well.

Wishing you a great summer!

I'm gonna do this real quick because I'm running out of time!!!

But I do have a card for you...

Please do take the time to see these girl's blogs who have so much fun with this like I do! Grace's blog:  Create It Because You Can & Tara's blog: Country Girl {Creates} You do want to see what they have created with this theme. We have so much fun & we love it if you share your comments!

This is that gorgeous flower again! I've had so much fun with this flower image & I know already this is just the beginning of a lot of fun.

Tara chose this week's challenge & she gave us a lot of room! She chose birthday because she was low on birthday cards. It was my lucky day because I happen to be too.

You do need to see these girl's blogs who have so much fun with this like I do! Grace's blog:  Create It Because You Can & Tara's blog: Country Girl {Creates} You do want to see what they have created with this theme. We have so much fun & we love it if you share your comments!

How I did it:
1. I stamped the flower from the You've Got This stamp set with Versamark ink & heat embossed with white embossing powder onto watercolor paper. I then cut out a mask & covered the first flower & stamped the second flower & repeated the embossing. This way the flower lines don't overlap.

2. I wet the flower image with my aqua painter (fancy name for a  pen with a water barrel instead of ink.) & dropped blushing bride ink onto it. (squish your ink pad before you open it. Open it & use the ink that pools onto the lid.)

3. The stem & leaves I used So Saffron ink & pear pizzaz. Same way. Wet your paper first. Then drop ink on. Easy. Truth!

4. Stamp sentiment with Blushing Bride. This sweet little sentiment is my favorite! It comes from a new stamp set called Sprinkles of Life. It's Photopolymer & only $26! Has 22 gorgeous images!

5. Wrap white bakers twine around & adhere to a Blushing Bride card base & you are done.

Now if you know me... I did the first card.. drooled with wonder & turned around & made a bunch more in many colors. So versatile. So gorgeous. So so so addicting.

Have I ever said before how I love to receive hand stamped cards in the mail? The size of the envelope is the first give away that something special is coming your way!

Maybe this is part of why I love to make them & send them.

Anyways, here is the second card...

This one has white stamping & silver embossing as well as the white accents that really pop!

Hmm, might have to let the new stamps rest a little & play with that butterfly stamp set again...

Thank-you sister dear! I know you had fun making this one.

The day has finally arrived!

It's here!

Our brand new catalog with a load of awesome new stamps & products is now live! If you do not have a catalog you can view all the new fabulous in this link right here!

Here is a card I've made with the new Sprinkles of Life stamp set...

Colors: Early Espresso, Watermelon Wonder (new color!) Delightful Dijon (another new color!) Whisper White, Very Vanilla & Real Red.

It's simple & straight forward. I stamped the ice-cream with versamark ink & heat embossed with clear embossing powder. I punched them out with the matching Tree Builder Punch! See it even gets better! The punch even did that cherry on top!

I stamped the ice-cream cone in Delightful Dijon & used my blender pen to shade it in. So easy you don't even have to think.

I embossed the Watermelon Wonder cardstock layer with my Big Shot.

And here is the inside... and the ice cream is gone.

Stampin' Up! donates time and money to support Ronald McDonald House Charities. For every sale of this stamp set Stampin' Up! will donate $3 to RMHC.

So you can enjoy your stamping... AND someone will receive a little help while they need medical treatment away from home. I'll say that's a win for everyone!

Enjoy the new catalog & don't forget to contact me with your order.

Or order online right here! And you know... I'd be tickled pink if you would select me as your demonstrator!

I was working on another Paper Pumpkin card (this card here) & the strips I had cut off to make a smaller size were laying over another card & I saw chevron.... major AHA! moment for me! Oh I felt all warm & fuzzy inside. Love it when those moments happen.

Now listen me out please, this card is truly easy. Take your striped card front from your Paper Pumpkin kit, or any diagonal stripe for that matter & cut 1/2 inch strips. I started with the bottom & cut three 1/2" strips. Then I turned the card a quarter turn & cut three more 1/2" strips from the other side. This way I could line up the colors of the chevron.

Then I adhered them to my daffodil delight layer, trimmed it to size & it was done!

(Of course then I shared at My Pumpkin Challenge... It's one of my favorite Paper Pumpkin Challenge blogs. They come up with so many fun ways to  use the kit! Do check it out!)

And then they chose me for the Awesome Pick! Wow.

That gorgeous 'hello friend' sentiment is from a previous Paper Pumpkin kit. Yup. Paper Pumpkin is a great deal! Especially now when they are offering new subscribers 50% off their first 2 months!

Now if you are wishing for your own Paper Pumpkin kit...  and I know you are (because who wouldn't?) you can sign up for your own kit right HERE!

Be sure to enter this promo code: SAVE50 to get 50% off!

This offer is good until June 10th.

Now what exactly were you waiting for?

It's here.

Oh. I heard you. You say you are busy in summer. Right. So. It's just a little box. Put it on the shelf. Doesn't take up much room & it will still be good in fall. Think about all the fun you will be saving just for yourself.  The deal is only for now. Not later.

(Although I'm gonna guess you will quick do it because it doesn't take a lot of time. Truth!)

It's birthday time again here in our country & I am absolutely loving the hand stamped cards that are showing up in my mailbox.

Have I ever said how blessed I am to have a mother & sisters & sisters-in-law who love to create & stamp? I do. I am so lucky. And then I get their creations to enjoy that brings a new inspiration to my own work.

These cards are so beautiful...

This one just is so vibrant & fresh & fun like summer!

Thank-you sister dear!

This birthday bundle paper pumpkin kit has been a fun one! I do say that about most of them though. If you look closely at the balloon strings... and then at the tails coming from the happy birthday sentiment... yes, they are the same stamp!

What I did:
 1. I cut the card in half & trimmed the striped side down to 3 1/2"x4 1/4" and mounted it on the Island Indigo side & then onto a white card base.

2. I flipped the patterned paper around & stamped the sentiment on the white side. I liked keeping the accents on this card to Island Indigo & white.

3. I stamped & heat embossed the balloons & tails with white embossing powder. My Island Indigo fine tip marker did a nice job of accenting those balloons.

Now because there wasn't room for the curl after birthday... I got to make another card...

Here you can see it that swirl in full glory...

I heat embossed the happy birthday first with white embossing powder, then repeated with the swirls. I had an easier time lining it up that way. Then a little bermuda bay ink & a sponge to add the definition... and a little larger circle in daffodil delight to frame the white one that came with the kit....

I've got some more ideas to show what I've all made with this kit... They will be coming up shortly! (and while you wait... check out this Paper Pumpkin Challenge Blog by clicking on the blog button below...)

But please don't forget... the Paper Pumpkin deal (50% off for the first 2 months!) only last until June 10th

It's almost the end of May... and only 4 days until you can order from the new catalog! That is worth celebrating!

The CHALLENGE SPARK! for this week is focused on new catalog product. But really,  new product isn't really a challenge by itself. Not in my books anyways. Who finds it a challenge to use something new you just got?!! So I've added the challenge of a single color. That's right. Single color on the card... well, its okay to include a neutral as a second color. Now how is that for a challenge!

Don't forget to check out Grace's blog:  Create It Because You Can & Tara at her blog: Country Girl {Creates} to see what they have created with this theme. We have so much fun & we love it if you share your comments!

I've also used only 1 stamp set for this challenge! (This is sure stretching the limit on single items today... I'll have to create something with everything to make up for it!) Now getting back to the topic: this stamp set is called You've Got This. This stamp set is available in wood-mount ($48) or clear-mount ($34).  It has this beautiful image for coloring in & some fun font sentiments...

This card is super easy. I stamped the flower image in Versa Mark ink then embossed with white embossing powder & cut them out. That cutting out is likely the hardest part...

Then I took another layer of Watermelon Wonder card stock, Watermelon ink pad  (new color!) & a sponge and by dabbing the sponge onto the ink pad & swirling it onto the card stock I added a darker center to the flowers as well as to the card stock layer. This adds an easy depth to single color cards!

And then just before I assembled, I pulled all stops & just rubbed the Versa mark ink pad over the edges of the card stock layer & heat embossed with white embossing powder. This was a little scary because who knows how it will look? It's not easy to control... but I was quite happy with the border it created as well as a more relaxed look.

Tuesday, May 26, 2015

I started with a bold black & white background & brayered Melon Mambo from dark fading to light.

I then added melon mambo & basic black butterflies & a few pearls finished the card. Simple is so beautiful, really.

Now the next card is another variation for you! This time it's Lucky Limeade ink.

(The lucky limeade ink & the So Happy For You sentiment are no longer available. But that doesn't mean they are  no good... I'm always grateful that stamps & ink do not spoil like the food in my fridge...)

You could use any black & white patterned paper to ink.
(Mine comes from the March Paper Pumpkin kit... )

And if you do not own a brayer you could also use sponges or a spritzer. (A brayer is like a rubber rolling pin... the rubber does a nice smooth job of applying the ink to paper)

IT'S TIME FOR A CHALLENGE SPARK! AGAIN. This week Grace chose the theme Bridal. I was glad for this chance. Seems like to me that in spring & summer I can never have too many bridal shower, congrats & wedding cards in my stash.

Please do stop over at Grace's blog:  Create It Because You Can & Tara at her blog: Country Girl {Creates} to see what they have created with this theme. We have so much fun & we love it if you share your comments!

That LOVE stamp? It's from the Paper Pumpkin kit that came in April. I love how the repeated stamping with Whisper White Craft ink on vellum looks! A butterfly in Pink Pirouette, a little doily a strip of dazzling diamonds glimmer paper & it looks so elegant!

Here is another version since I can't make just one style!

You are so very welcome. I knew you wanted more than one design!

And because it's so much fun playing with Paper Pumpkin, I played along again with My Pumpkin Challenge!

Now if you are wishing for your own Paper Pumpkin kit...  and I know you are (because who wouldn't?) you can sign up for your own kit right HERE! You are wishing for it at just the right time... There is a half price deal for your first 2 months for new subscribers!
Be sure to enter this promo code: SAVE50 to get 50% off! This offer is good until June 10th.

And next week I'm showing off some new product from the catalog that comes out on June 2nd!!!

Just loving the bold fun style of these!

I sent the envelopes through the Big Shot to emboss the lower portion before assembling.

I love the ombre look of stamping off. Just keep stamping without re-inking!

this happy birthday sentiment is from the March Paper Pumpkin kit.

DAD on the envelope is stamped with Baked Brown Sugar ink

I had so much fun I didn't do anything different with the kit this time. Most of them I turned into birthday cards. A few Father's day cards. For the ones I need to mail I will just pop them into a standard invitation envelope (4 1/2 x 6").

I also shared it here at My Pumpkin Challenge. Do be sure to click on the link to see what other fabulousness has been created with this kit. These ladies are genius!

And when I was done.... I turned around & used this stamp set for this week's Challenge Spark! blog for Thursday. (This week the challenge is showing on Thursday...) So be sure to come back & see how I used this stamp set to make something very feminine & bridal.

I won't even apologize for all the Paper Pumpkin that's showing up in this blog. It's so easy. It's so complete. And then you still have the ink & stamps to make more beautiful cards.

And you know what?! You can do it too! Each month this kit comes with instructions, 1 ink or 2, a set of stamps & even a clear block for you in the first kit!

You can sign up for your own kit right HERE! You are wishing for it at just the right time... There is a half price deal for your first 2 months for new subscribers!

Be sure to enter this promo code: SAVE50 to get 50% off! This offer is good until June 10th.

I'm off to play with my next Paper Pumpkin kit!

I look forward to this CHALLENGE SPARK! blog posting every Friday.

Tara was the lucky one this week to choose the challenge of ombre. There is something so eye catching about color shades from dark to light.

Please do stop over at Grace's blog:  Create It Because You Can & Tara at her blog: Country Girl {Creates}. We have so much fun & we love it if you share your comments!

The black patterned paper along with the white quote bubble on the top of the card are from the March 2015 Paper Pumpkin kit.  The original color was black & white. You can see my first card here. And I've used this kit in a Challenge Spark! post before... must be a good one... you can see that one here!

I used a single ink pad & brayered right over the black pattern. Cut out the 'hello' from matching cardstock. I used the retiring 'Baby, We've Grown' stamp set for the BABY. And last but not least the Baby's First Framelits for the li'l ducky. Isn't he ever cute!!

The inspiration for this card came from my friend who always liked the bright, bold & cheerful for her babies. So, here you friend!

Colors: (from left to right in the line-up) Melon Mambo, Pacific Point, Daffodil Delight, Lucky Limeade (long retired, but I'm hanging on) & Blackberry Bliss.

And if you are wishing for your own Paper Pumpkin kit... You can sign up for your own kit right HERE! You are wishing for it at just the right time... There is a half price deal for your first 2 months for new subscribers!

Be sure to enter this promo code: SAVE50 to get 50% off! This offer is good until June 10th.

Wishing you a great long weekend!

(Psst. Next week's challenge is bridal...)

Here we go for another challenge!

I chose this challenge. Which I'm not sure if it really is a challenge to use a stamp set that I love that is no longer going to be for sale. I loved this Baby, We've Grown set.

And I just noticed this new challenge going & it got me all inspired...

And it didn't take me but a few minutes & I had this card made! #tgifc02 Celebrating fun & easy I am!

And I've used only 1 stamp set! See! Maybe I'll have to use that as a challenge sometime...

Please do stop over at Grace's blog:  Create It Because You Can & Tara at her blog: Country Girl {Creates}. We have so much fun & we love it if you share your comments!

Paper: Lost Lagoon (not retired until next year) Pool Party, Naturals White (retiring) & that kraft & white stripe is the wrapping paper from the Holiday Catalog. You may be able to get it from the Clearance Rack if you hurry.

Ink: Lost Lagoon (not retired until next year) Baked Brown Sugar (retiring & no longer available. Big sad face here) White Chalk Marker

I used the Chalk marker to add the white to the dear li'l bunny. Then my Water Pen & Baked Brown Sugar ink filled in the rest!

Next week we have the challenge of doing ombre! I think it will be a fun one if I can clean the dirt off my fingernails in time to make a card! (It's spring, the beautiful time when it's hard to make time for all the things I love...)

Tuesday, May 5, 2015

I used this In This Together stamp set in the Challenge Spark for a seldom used stamp set.  You can see it here.

Here is another way I like to use this stamp set. It seems a girl can never have too many girly cards on hand. They keep getting sent away!

Colors: Blackberry Bliss & Smoky Slate.

I used my water pen & was pretty careful in the small details but I was pretty pleased with how it turned out.

Friday, May 1, 2015

Here I am for another round of THE CHALLENGE SPARK!
Grace chose this challenge of creating something tropical with yellow, coral & green. She nearly threatened to specify which colors... but thankfully she was merciful on that point!
Be sure to hop on over to Grace's blog:  Create It Because You Can.  And do visit Tara at her blog: Country Girl {Creates}. It is so much fun doing this whole challenge thing with these girls!

Here is my card:

Yes, the main image is a retired stamp. But the palm tree? That is the fern stamp from Butterfly Basics! I wished I had a photopolymer stamp that would have worked for the palm trunk... because I could bend it to the shape I wanted... so you will need to use your imagination in that area!

I used my water pen on Watercolor paper to color the background & the image. Just makes me wish I had a beach where I could sit in the sun. I guess I'll use my front step for now!

Colors: Mellow Moss, Calypso Coral, Crisp Canteloupe, Daffodil Delight, Lost Lagoon & Crumb Cake.

Come back next week to see what we have created with something that is due to retire at the end of the month...

Tuesday, April 28, 2015

I made this card the same day as I did this one for the Challenge Spark.

I like the vintage & autumn look this card has. Just a little out of season perhaps but that will just shake things up a little here on this blog...

Flowers are always a welcome thing in my life.

Colors: Cajun Craze, Crushed Curry, Crumb Cake & Early Espresso.

Friday, April 24, 2015

It's Friday & that means it time for another CHALLENGE SPARK! blog hop...

Tara from Country Girl Creates chose this challenge & Grace Create It Because You Can! & I both groaned. It is kinda a funny thing about doing this with friends in that it is fun to choose something that will push the creativity of the others... but only when I choose it. Right?!

So I turned to Pinterest. I haven't been too enthused about the pop-up cards I've seen. But trust Pinterest to change that.

(There were so many fun ideas that I started my own Pop Up Cards board on Pinterest. You can see it here.)

It helps that Mother's Day is coming & I love to make special cards for those special women who have made such an incredible difference in my life.

So here we go...

Colors: Baked Brown Sugar, Strawberry Slush & Mellow Moss

I found this lovely idea by Notable Nest. And she had such lovely clear instructions with pictures that I didn't bother writing my own. You can check them out here:  Pop-Up Card instructions at Notable Nest

Colors: Baked Brown Sugar, Crisp Canteloupe & Pistachio Pudding.

The flowers I die cut out of creped filter paper. Lovely stuff. I colored them with my water pen... until I thought of just squeezing my ink pads & adding a little water to the lid. Then I dropped the flower right into the color... & lifted out to dry. Fast & fun!

Next week we have the challenge of creating something tropical with yellow, coral & green... So be sure to come back!
