I made this card the same day as I did this one for the Challenge Spark.

I like the vintage & autumn look this card has. Just a little out of season perhaps but that will just shake things up a little here on this blog...

Flowers are always a welcome thing in my life.

Colors: Cajun Craze, Crushed Curry, Crumb Cake & Early Espresso.

It's Friday & that means it time for another CHALLENGE SPARK! blog hop...

Tara from Country Girl Creates chose this challenge & Grace Create It Because You Can! & I both groaned. It is kinda a funny thing about doing this with friends in that it is fun to choose something that will push the creativity of the others... but only when I choose it. Right?!

So I turned to Pinterest. I haven't been too enthused about the pop-up cards I've seen. But trust Pinterest to change that.

(There were so many fun ideas that I started my own Pop Up Cards board on Pinterest. You can see it here.)

It helps that Mother's Day is coming & I love to make special cards for those special women who have made such an incredible difference in my life.

So here we go...

Colors: Baked Brown Sugar, Strawberry Slush & Mellow Moss

I found this lovely idea by Notable Nest. And she had such lovely clear instructions with pictures that I didn't bother writing my own. You can check them out here:  Pop-Up Card instructions at Notable Nest

Colors: Baked Brown Sugar, Crisp Canteloupe & Pistachio Pudding.

The flowers I die cut out of creped filter paper. Lovely stuff. I colored them with my water pen... until I thought of just squeezing my ink pads & adding a little water to the lid. Then I dropped the flower right into the color... & lifted out to dry. Fast & fun!

Next week we have the challenge of creating something tropical with yellow, coral & green... So be sure to come back!

It is CHALLENGE SPARK! time again...

This was my turn to choose the challenge & I wanted to CASE something out of one of the current Stampin' Up! catalogues. CASE means Copy & And Share Everything. I find inspiration in looking at the cards others make but I seldom actually copy... so I have been having fun...

My friends Grace from Create It Because You Can! & Tara from Country Girl Creates are both playing along with Challenge. Please do check out their blogs.

We all copy. That is how we learn. It happens from little on up: Do it like Mom or copy the example in the book. I find that it helps my creativity. Sometimes I'm not sure where to start & I start by copying something that I find beautiful or attractive & it doesn't take long & I change something up & I start creating something out of my own ideas. This whole internet, blog & Pinterest thing is just the greatest for that!

Here is the card from the catalogue that I chose to CASE. It is on page 55 of the 2014-2015 Annual Stampin' Up! Catalogue.

And here is my card:

I did a little switching out of colors & I traded the butterfly for flower. The chicken wire stamp from the Butterfly Basics stamp made a nice background detail. The sentiment is from a 2015 Sale-A-Bration set. Colors: Bermuda Bay, Crushed Curry, Calypso Coral, & Basic Grey.

My favorite part? It's that typeset paper that makes my heart go crazy!

Here is 2 more color options for you:

Another way to find creativity is to start with a challenge. There are a lot of options out there when you start searching stamp blogs. This is why I love this Challenge Spark! blog so much. First it gives me a deadline. I'm a perfect procrastinator & I find that my own deadlines & goals don't always hold me responsible. Here I have others keeping tabs on me. Second reason why it's good: It starts with an idea & I can make it my own way. It isn't always what I think I would like at first but this way I can grow into other ideas. I think that is pure creativity. And you know... everyone can do that in their own way! (This is also why I'm loving Paper Pumpkin...)

And next week?

Next week we get to/have to make a pop-up card. Tara sure makes it hard for us... But I think once I get willing it will be fun!

Wishing you a great weekend!

Here I am with a little good news concerning My Digital Studio! This is mostly an informational post for those who love My Digital Studio. There is no pictures, just boring reading. I won't even apologize. Smile. But there is some really good news, even for those of you who like the ink & stamps but I wrote it right at the end... so keep reading.

Stampin' Up! made the following announcements recently:

While Stampin' Up! previously announced that the MDS product line would be unavailable after Sunday, May 31, 2015, it is excited to let you know that all of its MDS items will be included in the upcoming Retired List promotion from April 21-June 2, 2015.  Digital downloads, software, and print products will all be discounted by 30 percent and are guaranteed to be available through the end of the promotion (MDS software discs are available while supplies last).
New Dates
Stampin' Up! has extended the availability date for MyDigitalStudio.net, the digital download manager, and its MDS YouTube, Facebook, and Pinterest pages through midnight, June 9, 2015. Demonstrators and customers may call Demonstrator Support for assistance with MDS until Demonstrator Support closes at 7:00 PM (MT) on Tuesday, June 9.

Project Life
The Let’s Get Away Digital Project Life Card Collection by Stampin’ Up! from the occasions catalog was posted on the ProjectLife.com website yesterday and is currently available for 20% off.  For the foreseeable future, all Digital Project Life card collections will be made available through the ProjectLife.com store.  (There are both Project Life by Stampin' Up! and Project Life digital downloads at that site.)

What about my software?
You still own it & can continue to use it. The only thing missing will be the technical support from Stampin' Up! The same goes for your digital content. You still have it. The only thing will be is that after June 2nd you will no longer be able to buy more digital content from the Stampin' Up! website. (you can still purchase from all the other wonderful places that sell beautiful digital designs!)
Print Services...
There are a lot of options for printing elsewhere. I am currently searching options for myself & will be glad to share when I know more.
VERY IMPORTANT! Back up your software & downloads...
Stampin' Up! has carried a virtual archive of all the digital products & the software for anyone who has purchased through them. And if I ever had any trouble, I could re-download it for free. Which has been wonderful. (Not that I have had a lot of trouble... but new computers etc...) This will no longer be available after June 9th, 2015. You will want to back it up to at least one location, two is better. (USB, external hard drive, disk etc) I have not done this yet myself, once I have figured out how to do this, I will gladly help you with yours.
Changing to My Memories Suite...
My Memories is the creator of My Digital Studio. They are offering My Digital Studio users  free software to help them migrate over to My Memories Suite.  (You can switch over your current MDS digital files!!!) You can check them out here: My Memories. They also offer print services!

And here is the best part!
My Digital Studio & all digital downloads will be 30% off from April 21st - June 2nd, 2015. The print products will also be 30% off! So it's a great time to stock up & save! It is also a great time to buy in if you do not have My Digital Studio... You get it all for 30% off (It is currently $25 only) & then can switch to My Memories Suite for free if you do it before the end of May. It really is a great deal for everyone.

And now only one more thing to keep in mind...
There is a new catalogue coming June 2nd!!!
This means there is a list of products that will be retired when the new catalogue comes. This list is available April 21st. There are discounts on that as well! I love new product... but I also am happy when I have the chance to buy a favorite or stock up on some basics for a little less!
You are still reading? Yeah for you!
My plan is to have a farewell party for these retired products at my house. We will make a card with products that will no longer be sold plus I will have my retired supplies available for reduced prices! The date is yet to be announced but I'm hoping for early May...

Grace chose the challenge of creating a card for youth aged boys. Cards for the men in our lives is a little more difficult to create.

Be sure to hop on over to Grace's blog:  Create It Because You Can.  Also please visit Tara at her blog: Country Girl {Creates}.  I do love watching how we can have the same challenge & yet the cards these girls come up with are beautiful & so different from the others.

I am also sharing it here with My Pumpkin Challenge... Click on the link to see what others are doing with theirs!

When I think of young men I often think of bright colors & clean lines.

I primarily used my March Paper Pumpkin kit for this card. I added the ribbon, daffodil & black cardstock. I like the detail of the added fold to the card. Not really hard.

Doesn't that make you want to get your very own Paper Pumpkin kit? It's so fun to pick up that red box in my post office every month! You can sign up for Paper Pumpkin right here!

 Isn't this just great?!

Sometimes I'm really sorry when I have missed a sale or a promotion. It's hard to keep up & sometimes a person has to say no. Real life gets in the way & I have to choose what is most important after all.

But then... and this is the good news... there will always be another promotion. Another deal. More opportunities to buy. If you missed out on the last one or two or more then maybe this one is for you!

So like it says, Stampin' Up! is offering free shipping from April 6-10th!!!

I love it when I get to buy from home & do not need to pay the extra on shipping!

So go ahead, place your order online or email me (contact form is so handy here on the blog..) & I'll be glad to help you get your items without having to pay the shipping!

Happy shopping!

It's the thirteenth week of Challenge Spark! This week the challenge is to use designer series paper.

Tara chose this one & I love the wide open options this brings.

Do be sure to check out Grace's blog:  Create It Because You Can. Also please visit Tara at her blog: Country Girl {Creates}. I love watching how we can have the same challenge & yet the cards these girls come up with are beautiful & so different from the others.

This card is really quite an easy card. Truly!

I stamped on the patterned paper with VersaMark ink. (the new Stampin' Up! ink pads also work.) Then embossed with the black embossing powder. I used the regular Stampin' Write Markers to color the red, black & grey. I used the chalk marker to color in the chef's white hat & coat. I kinda like how the background image shows through a wee bit.

I also used Sahara Sand & Crumb Cake to add a shadow around the image. I love how that seems to pop the image off the paper.

This chef stamp set is called Voila! I am grieved that it has been retired for a long time. But I really love this set & I do not want to part with this one. I was really tickled with how the Happy Birthday sentiment from the last Paper Pumpkin kit fits with the image. So the good news is that it's not all retired!

The next challenge coming up is a card for youth aged men. I think this one might be a little more challenging...

Happy Stamping!
